Insulanoplectron is a monotypic genus recorded only from the Snares Islands/Tine Heke south of Stewart Island, New Zealand.

Body length:  Male: 14 mm.  Female:17 -18 mm 
Ovipositor: 0.8x body length = 14.4 mm. (serrated, ventral tip)
Antennae: Length not stated
Leg: body ratio
Fore: 1.6 : 1 = 22.4 mm.  1.3 ; 1 = 22.7 mm.
Mid:  1.6  :1 = 22.4 mm.  1.3 : 1 = 22.4 mm.
Hind: 2.5 : 1 = 35 mm.    2 : 1 = 35 mm.

Location: Snares Islands. Recorded on forest floor, native olearia and other vegetation at night.
